Does Amazon allow AI-written books?
Yes. When you publish, KDP asks whether the text, images or translations are AI-generated, and you should answer yes. Your listing file includes a reminder.
Who owns the book?
You do, as far as the law allows for AI-generated work, and you can sell it. Read it before you publish: it’s your name on the cover.
What trim sizes do the files use?
6 x 9 in for novels, guides and journals, and 8.5 x 8.5 in for picture books. Choose “No bleed” for the interior when you upload; the cover PDF already includes the 0.125 in bleed KDP asks for.
How many credits does a book take?
218 credits for a 12-chapter novel with its cover. A picture book is 12 credits per illustrated page, so 16 pages come to about 218. You see the cost before you press Write.
